Details:
On or about Monday, February 14th, 2022, around 1:30 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Beechnut Street near the exchange with Beltway 8 in Houston, Texas.
Officers from the Houston Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle that continued off the roadway and struck a nearby apartment building. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the southeast side of Houston.
Authorities are still investigating.
