On or about Sunday, February 6th, 2022, around 3:00 in the morning, a serious single-vehicle hit-and-run accident left one woman dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported in the 3600 block of East Freeway (Interstate 10) in Houston, Texas.
Officials from the Houston Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the pickup truck she was in allegedly veered off the side of the road and slammed into a barrier. Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead of the injuries she suffered when she was ejected from the vehicle in the crash. The driver of the pickup truck allegedly fled the scene on foot.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the east side of Houston.
Police are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
