On or about Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022, around 1:00 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident with a pedestrian and two passenger vehicles left one person dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the Eastex Freeway in Houston, Texas.

Officers from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when he was allegedly hit by a Honda Civic and another passenger vehicle as they were walking along or near the Eastex Freeway. After the initial accident, the driver of the Honda fled the scene after abandoning the vehicle, while the other driver left the scene in their vehicle. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead a short time after the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the northeast side of Houston.

Authorities are still trying to track down both drivers who fled the scene.
