On or about Friday, April 29th, 2022, around 5:10 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left one person dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along the Gulf Freeway in Houston, Texas.
Law enforcement representatives from the Houston Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a passing motorist as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the Gulf Freeway. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the incident is a short distance from the exchange with Lockwood.
Police are still looking for the driver and vehicle that fled the accident scene.
