Details:
On or about Saturday, June 25th, 2022, around 11:44 at night, a hit-and-run accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian left one person dead. Deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the Interstate 35 service road in Austin, Texas.
Officers from the Austin Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified woman was killed when she was allegedly hit by a vehicle while she was walking alongside or tried to cross the lanes of Interstate 35 service road. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead of her injuries a short time after the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the south side of Austin.
Police are still trying to track down the driver and vehicle that fled the scene.
