On or about Saturday, March 5th, 2022, around 9:11 at night, a serious hit-and-run car accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left a 26-year-old man dead. Officers from the EPPD said the accident was reported along North Mesa Street in El Paso, Texas.
Authorities from the El Paso Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by a vehicle as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross North Mesa Street. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Emergency responders rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries a short time after their arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the north side of El Paso.
Police are still looking for the driver and vehicle that fled the scene of the incident.
