Details:
On or about Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, around 2:50 in the afternoon, an accident between a dump truck and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Authorities from the ISP said the accident was reported along Interstate 64 just outside Caseyville in St. Clair County, Illinois.
Representatives from the Illinois State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a passenger vehicle and an IDOT dump truck collided under unspecified circumstances along I-64. Emergency responders pronounced one person dead a short time after the accident, but officials did not specify which vehicle they were in at the time of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 64 cuts east and west into Caseyville.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
