Details:
On or about Saturday, December 25th, 2021, an accident with an alleged drunk driver left one person dead and sent another to the hospital. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported in the 800 block of Park Street in Laredo, Texas.
Officers from the Laredo Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and another was injured when an alleged drunk driver ran a red light and struck the van they were in on Park Street. Emergency responders rushed the driver and passenger of the van to a nearby hospital where the passenger succumbed to their injuries a short time after their arrival.
Authorities have since charged Angel Abiel Montemayor with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault in connection with the accident.
