Details:
On or about Monday, March 28th, 2022, around 11:18 in the morning, an accident between a box truck, a Jeep, and a passenger vehicle left one person dead and sent another individual to the hospital. Troopers from the NJHP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Shunpike Road and Lafayette Avenue in Chatham Township, New Jersey.
Representatives from the New Jersey Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and another person was injured when a Jeep allegedly collided with another vehicle and struck the back of a parked box truck. Emergency responders pronounced one person in the Jeep dead of their injuries a a short time after the accident. One other individual was treated for injured, but officials did not specify which vehicle the victim was in at the time of the crash.
According to Google Maps, Chatham Township is about 14 miles west of downtown Newark.
Police are still investigating the accident.
