Details:
On or about Saturday, April 9th, 2022, around 4:00 in the afternoon, a major single-vehicle rollover car accident left one person dead and sent another person to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along U.S. Highway 287 in Clay County, Texas.
Law enforcement spokespeople from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and another was injured when the vehicle they were in allegedly veered off the side of the roadway and rolled a short distance off the pavement. Paramedics pronounced a passenger in the vehicle dead at the scene, while the driver was taken to United Regional Hospital by helicopter.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from the intersection with Lone Star Road.
Authorities are still investigating the crash.
