On or about Saturday, February 26th, 2022, around 6:49 in the morning, a major two-vehicle accident left one person dead and sent another to the hospital. Authorities said the accident was reported along Highway 183 near the exchange with East Riverside Drive in Austin, Texas.
Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 183 near the intersection with East Riverside Drive. Emergency responders rushed both drivers to a nearby hospital where one of them succumbed to their injuies a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the southeast side of Austin, not far from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
