On or about Tuesday, August 10th, 2021, around 9:25 in the morning, an accident between a moped and a dump truck left a 55-year-old woman dead and sent a 68-year-old man to the hospital. Troopers from the MSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Western Avenue and Washington Street in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Investigators said an as-of-yet unidentified 55-year-old woman was killed and a 68-year-old man was injured when the moped they were on and a dump truck collided under unspecified circumstances at the intersection of Washington Street and Western Avenue. Paramedics rushed the male driver of the moped and the female passenger to nearby Salem Hospital where the woman succumbed to her injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Western Avenue and Washington Street is situated a short distance north of the center of Lynn, which is about 10 miles north of downtown Boston.
Police are still working to pin down what may have led to the incident.
