Details:
On or about Wednesday, September 15th, 2021, around 2:44 in the morning, an accident between a car and a street sweeping work truck left one woman dead and sent a man to the hospital. Authorities from the VSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 64 in Norfolk, Virginia.
Troopers from the Virginia State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified woman was killed and a man was seriously injured when the car they were in allegedly struck a street sweeper truck in a work zone on the side of westbound I-64. Paramedics pronounced the female passenger in the car dead a short time after the accident, while the driver was transported to Sentara Norfolk General with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 64 runs east and west through the center of Norfolk.
Officials are still working to determine the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
