Details:
On or about Monday, April 12th, 2021, around 10:38 in the morning, an accident between two tractor-trailers left one man dead and left another injured. Troopers from the FHP said the accident happened along Bermont Road near Chiquita Drive in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said one person was killed and another was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly veered over the center line of Bermont Road and slammed into the other truck. One driver was pronounced dead a short time after the collision, while the other was treated for unknown injuries.
Bermont Road runs east and west through Punta Gorda, which is about 24 miles north of Fort Myers, according to Google Maps.
State and local law enforcement assisted at the scene of the accident.
