Details:
On or about Monday, May 16th, 2022, around 8:30 at night, an accident between a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer left one person dead and sent another to the hospital. Local law enforcement officials said the accident was reported at the intersection of Rozzelles Ferry Road and Lawton Road in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Officers from the Charlotte Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and another person was injured when the motorcycle they were on was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer that failed to yield at the intersection of Rozzelles Ferry Road and Lawton Road. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the motorcycle dead, while a passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
Police have identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Rolando Reimundez Pedre, who has since been charged with with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield the right of way in connection with the accident.
Police are still investigating.
