On or about Thursday, August 5th, 2021, around 12:20 in the afternoon, an accident between a car, a moving truck, a pickup, and a tractor-trailer left a 65-year-old man dead and sent two other people to the hospital. Investigators said the accident occurred along Interstate 10 near the 240 mile marker in Madison County, Florida.

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol said an as-of-yet unidentified 65-year-old man was killed, while his 19-year-old passenger was injured when the pickup truck they were in allegedly changed lanes and made contact with a moving truck. After the initial impact, the pickup truck struck a barrier, while the moving truck collided with a tractor-trailer. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the pickup truck dead a short time after the accident, while the 19-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the moving truck also reported injuries following the crash.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 10 runs east and west through the center of Madison County, which is about 55 miles east of Tallahassee.

Police are still investigating the crash.
