Details:
On or about Monday, March 29th, 2021, around 4:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a car, a tractor-trailer, and a tour bus left one person dead and sent another to the hospital. Officials from the VSP said the accident happened along the northbound side of Interstate 81 in Roanoke County, Virginia.
Troopers from the Virginia State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed and another was hurt when their car was allegedly struck by an 18-wheeler and pushed into a nearby tour bus. Paramedics pronounced one person dead after the accident, while another person was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Department of Transportation officials closed all of the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 in order to tend to the scene of the accident.
Police are still investigating the crash at this time.
