On or about Wednesday, April 7th, 2021, an accident between a sedan and a pickup truck claimed the life of an 85-year-old woman and sent an 80-year-old man to the hospital. Local law enforcement officials said the accident happened along Business 41 near the intersection with North Recreation Parkway in Fort Myers, Florida.
Troopers from the FHP said one as-of-yet unidentified 80-year-old woman was killed and an 80-year-old man was injured when their car and a truck collided under unspecified circumstances. Photos from the scene show significant passenger-side damage to the car. The driver of the car was taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. The passenger in the car died of her injuries a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Business 41 and North Recreation Drive is on the north side of Fort Myers.
State and local police are still investigating the accident.
