On or about Thursday, February 10th, 2022, around 4:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a moped left one individual dead. Deputies from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 28 and Earpsboro Road in Zebulon, Ohio.

Authorities from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as he was riding his moped at the intersection of Highway 28 and Earpsboro Road. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the moped dead of their injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles.

According to Google Maps, Zebulon is about 23 miles east of downtown Raleigh.

Police are still looking into the cause of the accident.
