On or about Friday, April 15th, 2022, around 8:20 at night, an accident between a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle claimed the life of one person. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1936 and 16th Street in Ector County, Texas.
Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the motorcycle they were on and a passenger vehicle collided under unspecified circumstances near 16th and FM 1936. Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene or if they were rushed to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries a short time after their arrival.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of 16th Street and Farm-to-Market 1936 is on the west side of Odessa.
