On or about Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021, around 8:11 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left one person dead and sent nine others to the hospital. Spokespeople from the USP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 80 just outside Grantsville in Tooele County, Utah.
Troopers from the Utah State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed and nine others were hurt when a tractor-trailer and an SUV towing a trailer collided under unspecified circumstances. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead after the accident, while paramedics rushed nine other people to the hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 80 runs east and west just north of Grantsville, which is about 39 miles southwest of downtown Salt Lake City.
