A Dallas, TX, man was killed and a Sumter, SC, man injured after their semi-trucks collided shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 28, 2024. The accident occurred on Highway 87, near Allentown Road, after the driver from Dallas, travelling south, veered into the northbound lane. Florida Highway Patrol reports he then collided with another semi-truck being driven by the man from Sumter.
The 36-year-old Dallas man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 62-year-old Sumter, SC, man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
