Details:
On or about Tuesday, June 8th, 2021, around 12:30 in the afternoon, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident left one person dead and sent another to the hospital. Troopers from the CHP said the accident happened along Interstate 5 just outside Patterson, California.
Police said one as-of-yet unidentified truck driver was killed and a passenger was injured when the tractor-trailer they were in allegedly skidded off the side of the road and rolled. The truck driver was thrown from the vehicle in the crash and was subsequently pronounced dead of their injuries. Paramedics transported a passenger to the hospital with unknown injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 5 runs north and south along the western edge of Patterson, which is about 86 miles south of Sacramento.
Police are still working to pin down what may have led to the accident.
