Details:
On or about Monday, February 8th, 2021, around 4:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and seven other vehicles left one person dead and sent another six to the hospital. Troopers from the CHP said the accident happened along the Ramona Expressway near the intersection with Lakeview Avenue in Nuevo, California.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said a tractor-trailer driven by Kieran McCall allegedly crashed into the back of a Ford Focus and pushed it into oncoming traffic where it was hit by a pickup truck and a Honda Civic. The tractor-trailer allegedly continued onward and struck several other vehicles. One person was ejected in the crash and died at the scene. Paramedics transported six other people to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the Ramona Expressway runs east and west along the northern edge of Nuevo. Nuevo is about 74 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
Police are still investigating the accident.
