Details:
On or about Saturday, February 20th, 2021, around 7:00 in the evening, an accident between a pedestrian and a snow plow left one person dead. Troopers from the State Police said the accident happened along Route 940 just outside Tobyhanna Township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when they were allegedly struck by a dump truck snow plow as they walked near or along Route 940. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is just outside Tobyhanna Township, which is about 112 miles north of Philadelphia.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
