On or about Sunday, August 1st, 2021, around 4:00 in the afternoon, a major tanker truck accident left one individual dead. Representatives from the FHP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 595 in Davie, Florida.
Police from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when a tanker truck crashed under unspecified circumstances while driving down I-595 near Davie Boulevard, and that the truck erupted into flames following the initial accident. Officials pronounced one individual dead at the scene of the accident a short time after the flames were extinguished.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 595 runs east and west along the northern edge of Davie, which is about 26 miles north of downtown Miami.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
