Details:
On or about Wednesday, April 28th, 2021, around 5:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and an 18-wheeler left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital. Authorities said the accident was reported on the northbound side of Interstate 15 just outside Mesquite in Clark County, Nevada.
Troopers from the Nevada State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and two others were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck an 18-wheeler on the shoulder of the interstate. After the initial collision, the tractor-trailer crossed into the southbound lanes of the interstate and struck a third semi truck and a car. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the tractor-trailer dead at the scene, while the driver of the southbound semi truck and two people in the car were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Interstate 15 runs north and south through the center of Mesquite, which is situated about 82 miles northeast of Las Vegas, on the border with Arizona, according to Google Maps.
Police are still working to determine the cause of the accident.
