On or about Wednesday, December 16th, 2020, around 6:15 in the evening, an accident between a car and an 18-wheeler left one person dead. SLCPD Officers said the accident happened at the intersection of 5600 West and 300 South in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Police said one as-of-yet unidentified driver was killed when their car was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer under unknown conditions. Emergency responders pronounced one person in the car dead a short time after they arrived at the scene. Investigators did not elaborate on what may have started the accident.
Officers said the driver of the 18-wheeler did not report serious injuries.
Law enforcement officials closed the intersection of 5600 West and 300 South for several hours to investigate the circumstances that led to the accident.
