On or about Saturday, September 18th, 2021, around 3:30 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler left one person dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at an intersection in the 16600 block of the East Freeway in Channelview, Texas.
Law enforcement representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck an 18-wheeler in the intersection on the East Freeway. Emergency responders pronounced one of the truck drivers dead of their injuries at the scene. The other truck driver was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the East Freeway runs east and west through Channelview, which is situated about 16 miles east of downtown Houston.
Texas Department of Public Safety assisted local authorities at the scene.
