On or about Friday, November 19th, 2021, around 1:00 in the afternoon, a major single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident resulted in a chemical spill and the death of one man. Troopers from the DPS said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of FM 1240 and FM 147 in Falls County, Texas

Texas Department of Public Safety officials said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the tractor-trailer they were driving allegedly drove off the side of the road and rolled off the road near FM 147 and FM 1240. The truck was towing a tanker filled with anhydrous ammonia, which the truck driver was exposed to following the accident. Emergency responders pronounced the driver dead a short time after the accident.

According to Google Maps, Falls County is about 129 miles south of downtown Dallas.

Multiple agencies assisted with cleanup following the accident.
