On or about Wednesday, November 18th, 2020, sometime before 10:30 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car claimed the life of one person. Texas DPS troopers said the accident happened on FM 1960 Road near Timber Forest Drive in Atascocita, Texas.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a passenger vehicle and an 18-wheeler collided under unspecified conditions. First responders pronounced at least one person dead of their injuries at the scene of the collision. Police did not indicate which vehicle the victim was in at the time of the incident.
Google Streetview shows FM 1960 is four lanes wide, with a shared turn lane dividing east and westbound traffic. Multiple businesses sit on either side of the roadway in the area. Atascocita is located about 30 miles northeast of downtown Houston.
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating.
