Details:
On or about Thursday, November 4th, 2021, around 2:23 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one person dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of the Golden State Freeway (5 Freeway) in Lincoln Heights, California.
Spokespeople from the California Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when they were allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of their injuries when they arrived at the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the accidnet.
According to Google Maps, the 5 Freeway runs north and south through Lincoln Heights, which is about 2 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.
Police are still looking into the accident.
