Details:
On or about Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021, around 5:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer left one man dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Grand Parkway at or near the intersection with Clay Road in Katy, Texas.
Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when the Chevrolet Camaro they were driving allegedly slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was turning into a business on Grand Parkway. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the Camaro dead of his injuries after the accident. Police believe the driver may have been racing at the time of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Grand Parkway runs north and south through the center of Katy, which is about 29 miles west of downtown Houston.
Police expect to release more information as soon as it becomes available.
