On or about Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022, around 11:30 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Spokespeople from the FHP said the accident was reported along Highway 1 near the exchange with Regalo Road in St. Johns County, Florida.
Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the vehicle they were in and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances while driving down Highway 1 not far from the exchange with Regalo Road. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the passenger vehicle dead a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 32 miles south of downtown Jacksonville.
Authorities are still investigating the collision.
