On or about Tuesday, June 15th, 2021, sometime before 8:00 in the morning, an accident between a motorhome and a tractor-trailer left one person dead. Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Highway 101 just outside Hopland, California.

Troopers from the CHP said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when a motorhome and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances. After the initial collision, one of the vehicles travelled off the side of the roadway and rolled to one side. One person was pronounced dead at the scene a short time after emergency responders arrived.

Highway 101 runs north and south through the center of Mendocino County, with the scene of the accident a short distance south of the Hopland city limits, according to Google Maps.

Police are still investigating the accident.
