On or about Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, around 9:15 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV claimed the life of a 48-year-old woman from Cantonment. Troopers from the FHP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 29 and Quintette Road in Escambia County, Florida.

Officials from the Florida Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified 48-year-old woman was killed when the SUV she was driving allegedly failed to yield while she was westbound on Quintette Road when her SUV was hit by a tractor-trailer on Highway 29. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead of their injuries a short time after the accident.

According to Google Maps, Highway 29 runs north and south through Escambia County, which encompasses the Pensacola area.

Police are still working to pin down the cause of the accident.
