On or about Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, an accident between a cyclist and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a young woman. Local law enforcement representatives said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 137 and Highway 31 in Grand Traverse County, Michigan.
Investigators said an as-of-yet unidentified cyclist was killed when she was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer passing through the intersection of Highway 31 and Highway 137. Emergency responders pronounced the cyclist dead a short time after the incident, but it is not immediately clear if she died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement on the incident.
