Details:
On or about Thursday, January 28th, 2021, around 11:00 at night, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left a woman dead. Department of Public Safety Troopers said the accident happened along Highway 31 near the intersection with FM 2908 near Tyler, Texas.
Texas DPS representatives said one person died after they were allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer when they stepped out of a disabled car on the side of the roadway. Emergency response personnel pronounced the victim dead of their injuries a short time after they were struck. No other vehicles were mentioned by police in their preliminary report.
Highway 31 runs east and west near the scene of the accident, which is just a few miles east of Tyler, according to Google Maps.
State and local officials are investigating the accident.
