Details:
On or about Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, around 5:25 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian claimed the life of one individual. Officers from the area said the accident was reported along Highway 41 near the exchange with Evergreen Road in North Fort Myers, Florida.
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a passing tractor-trailer as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Highway 41. Emergency responders rushed the pedestrian to Lee Memorial Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries a short time after their arrival. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Highway 41 and Evergreen Road is on the east side of North Fort Myers.
