Details:
On or about Monday, August 30th, 2021, around 2:40 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Deputies from the Horry County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Highway 501 just outside Conway, South Carolina.
Police from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by a passing tractor-trailer as they were walking down or making an attempt to cross Highway 501. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of their injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. Authorities did not mention any other injuries in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 501 runs through the center of Conway, which is a short distance from downtown Myrtle Beach.
Authorities are still investigating.
