Details:
On or about Monday, August 30th, 2021, around 2:40 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Authorities from the SCHP said the accident occurred along Highway 501 just outside Conway in Horry County, South Carolina.
Deputies from the Horry County Sheriff’s Department said one as-of-yet unidentified pedestrian was killed when they were allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as they were walking alongside or making an attempt to cross the lanes of Highway 501. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the incidnet.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 3 miles north of Conway.
Police are still investigating.
