Details:
On or about Friday, December 10th, 2021, around 7:05 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a minivan left one woman dead and sent two teens to the hospital. Deputies from the Erie County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported on Highway 6 at or near the intersection with Calvary Avenue in Vermilion Township, Ohio.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified woman was killed, and a 15-year-old and 18-year-old passenger were injured when the minivan they were in allegedly collided with a tractor-trailer that was backing into a private driveway across the lanes of Highway 6. Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead a short time after the accident, while the two passengers were taken to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Highway 6 cuts east and west through the northern, coastal edge of Vermillion Township, which is about 44 miles west of downtown Cleveland.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
