On or about Thursday, December 30th, 2021, around 11:20 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer, two SUVs, and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Troopers from the SCHP said the accident was reported at the intersection of U.S. Highway 601 and Dove Sutton Road in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the car they were in, two SUVs, and a tractor-trailer collided in a chain-reaction accident at the intersection of Dove Sutton Road and U. S. Highway 601. Police did not specify how the accident may have started, only that the driver of the four-door sedan was pronounced dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. No other injuries were reported following the crash.
According to Google Maps, Chesterfield County is about 78 miles northeast of downtown Columbia.
Police are still investigating the accident.
