On or about Sunday, February 20th, 2022, around 8:19 at night, an accident between a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported in the 4500 block of State Highway 71 in Del Valle, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer collided under unknown conditions while driving down Highway 71. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the motorcycle dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 9 miles southeast of downtown Austin.
Police are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
