-On or about Monday, April 18th, 2022, around 12:25 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Officials from the FHP said the accident was reported along U.S. Highway 90 in Gadsden County, Florida.
Representatives from the Florida Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified 27-year-old man was killed when the passenger vehicle they were in was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer when the truck turned as the car may have been moving to pass the semi truck along Highway 50. After the initial accident, the passenger vehicle crashed into a wooded patch a short distance off the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the vehicle dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene or if they were rushed to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Midway.
Police are still looking into the collision.
