Details:
On or about Sunday, August 22nd, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left one man dead and sent a truck driver to the hospital. Officials from the ISP said the accident was reported on the northbound side of Interstate 355 in Addison, Illinois.
Police from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when their car was allegedly struck from behind at a high rate of speed by a tractor-trailer driven by Hussein Muthanna. The driver of the car was ejected from the vehicle in the accident and died of their injuries a short time after the accident. Muthanna was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the collision.
Authorities have since cited Muthanna with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident in connection with the crash.
According to Google Maps, Addison is about 21 miles west of downtown Chicago.
Police are still investigating the accident.
