Details:
On or about Wednesday, October 21st, 2020, an 18-wheeler accident with several cars left one individual dead and sent four others to the hospital. The accident happened in the lanes of Interstate 70 on the Youghiogheny River Bridge in South Huntington Township, Pennsylvania.
State Troopers said that one individual was killed and four others were rushed to the hospital after a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into a car and two other vehicles that had stopped or slowed for a previous accident. All the lanes of Interstate 70 were closed so officials could tend to the scene of the crash.
Four other people were taken to area hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries.
An examination of the Youghiogheny River Bridge on Google Streetview shows that I-70 is four lanes with a concrete barrier dividing traffic. South Huntington Township is located about 42 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene of the accident to aid in the investigation.
