On or about Friday, October 9th, 2020, around noon, a collision between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a Reddick woman. The accident happened in the lanes of Interstate 75 just south of Ocala, Florida.
Florida Highway Patrol Troopers said that an as-of-yet unidentified 54-year-old woman was killed when her car was hit by a tractor-trailer that was allegedly merging from the center lane to the right lane on northbound Interstate 75. After the collision, the victim’s car lost control and rolled. The victim was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled and suffered fatal injuries.
Authorities closed the center and left lanes in order to conduct their investigation. Google maps indicates that Ocala is located about 80 miles northwest of Orlando.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are aiding in the investigation at this time.
