Details:
On or about Thursday, October 22nd, 2020, around midnight, an accident between a car and an 18-wheeler claimed the life of a 34-year-old man from Chicago. The accident happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 94 in Wadsworth, Illinois.
Authorities said that an unidentified 34-year-old man was killed when the Toyota Avalon he was driving was allegedly struck from behind while stalled in the southbound lanes near Rosecrans Road. The man was pronounced dead a short time after the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer did not report injuries.
Officers said it was raining at the scene when they arrived.
Examining Interstate 94 on Google Streetview shows an 8 lane roadway with a concrete barrier dividing the north and southbound lanes of traffic. Wadsworth is located about 44 miles north of Chicago.
Police hope to release more details about the accident at a later date.
