On or about Sunday, December 26th, 2021, a serious accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 10 near the exchange with Pepper Avenue in Colton, California.

Officials from the California Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the car they were in allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked along the eastbound shoulder of I-10. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the car dead of their injuries a short time after the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles or injuries in their statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 10 cuts east and west through the center of Colton, which is situated about 55 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
